Assisted Voluntary Return
Since 2003 the International Organization for Migration has been assisting Georgian citizens in EU member states who wish to return to their homeland voluntarily.To date International Organization for Migration, Mission to Georgia cooperates with 29 sending countries, mainly EU member states, Switzerland and Canada. Programme participants are asylum seekers who have received negative feedback on their claim and irregular migrants.

IOM also helps stranded migrants, rejected asylum seekers and particularly vulnerable migrants residing in Georgia, who want to return permanently to their country of origin but do not have the means and/or travel documents to do so.
