Meetings with Georgian Diaspora: Greece, Germany, Turkey

In the framework of the project “ERGEM – Enhancing the Role of Georgian Migrants at Home” being implemented by the DRC and ICMPD, the Information Days were held in three target countries: Greece, Germany and Turkey. The Information Days were organized in the framework of Diaspora Days, with participation of the representatives of the state bodies, embassies and consulates as well as the diaspora organizations functioning in respective countries, and diaspora members.

Georgian dancing and singing, and Georgian cuisine were presented at the Information Days. Apart from entertaining events, the representatives of Georgian state bodies provided the emigrants with intensive consulting on the issues related to property registration, recognition of academic qualification, start-up business, return to and reintegration at the home country, pensions and social security issues, healthcare, identification documents, citizenship, tourism, agriculture, and driving licenses. Georgian ambassadors to Greece and Germany addressed the attendees and provided information on the range of issues and novelties, they collaborate with the state structures of the respective countries thereupon. At the Information Day held in Berlin, the representative of the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) presented the information about the circular migration project implemented in Georgia.

Diaspora representatives expressed their great satisfaction with the provided consulting as well as the cultural event.
